APOLOGETIC BIBLE STUDY Q&A: "May Mali ba sa Bible? Let’s Talk About Inerrancy"

How many times have we heard someone say, "Bakit ka naniniwala sa Bible? Pero for us conservative evangelical Christians, we stand our ground. Naniniwala tayo sa tinatawag na Inerrancy of Scripture.

But what does that actually mean? Let’s break it down in a way na relate tayo.

What is Inerrancy, anyway?

Bago tayo mag-debate, clarify muna natin ang terms. When we say the Bible is inerrant, we mean na kapag nalaman na natin ang lahat ng facts, the Bible in its original manuscripts and properly interpreted ay mapapatunayang totoo at hinding-hindi false sa lahat ng sinasabi nito.

Whether it’s about doctrine, ethics, o kahit facts about social and physical sciences, the Bible is reliable. Three things to remember here:

  2. Truth in Statements: Inerrancy applies to what the Bible affirms. Ibig sabihin, ang bawat statement ay totoo. Hindi ibig sabihin na walang "sinungaling" sa Bible; accurately recorded ang mga pagsisinungaling ng tao at ni Satanas para ituro sa atin ang katotohanan about God and our human condition.

  3. Originals Matter: We are talking about the autographs (the original writings), not the typos in a modern translation.

4 Reasons Bakit Tayo Naniniwala na Walang Mali ang Bible

Bakit nga ba tayo confident? Here are four solid arguments:

1. The Biblical Argument (The Word on Itself)

Pinaka-importante ito. The Bible claims to be the "exhaled breath of God" (2 Timothy 3:16). Hindi lang ito basta sulat ng tao; it’s a divine-human book where the Holy Spirit guided the authors (2 Peter 1:21).

If God is the author, and God cannot lie (Numbers 23:19, Titus 1:2), then His Word must be 100% true. Even Jesus said na hindi lilipas ang langit at lupa hanggang hindi natutupad ang pinakamaliit na detalye ng Kautusan (Matthew 5:17-20).

2. The Historical Argument (Hindi ito Bagong Turo)

3. The Epistemological Argument (How do we know?)

It talks about things we can't see God, angels, heaven. Only an inerrant Bible gives us the assurance na totoo ang binabasa natin.

4. The Slippery Slope Argument

Ito yung reality check. Kapag sinimulan mong aminin na "may mali" sa Bible, madalas itong nagle-lead sa pag-give up ng iba pang core doctrines, like the deity of Christ or the substitutionary atonement. It’s a trend we’ve seen once you undermine the foundation of Scripture’s truthfulness, the whole house starts to shake.

Logic tells us we don't need the physical original piece of paper if two things are true:

  • We have thousands of high-quality copies (which we do!).

  • We have the science of Textual Criticism to determine what the original said.

Dahil sa dami ng manuscripts natin, we can be extremely confident that what we have today is what was originally written.

Real Talk Reflection

"All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness." 2 Timothy 3:16 (ESV)

Call to Action: The next time you read your Bible, huwag kang mag-approach with a skeptical heart. Hindi ito ancient book of myths; it is God’s reliable communication to you. Challenge yourself today: Trust the Word even when it challenges your feelings or the current trends of culture. Kung ang God of the Universe ang nagsalita, sigurado tayong walang sablay 'yan.

Let’s dive deeper into the Word this week!

APOLOGETICS BIBLE STUDY Q&A: "Does Science Support the Bible? (Or Magka-away Ba Talaga Sila?)"

Parang choice lang between being "smart" or being "faithful." Pero let’s be real: ang Bible and Science ay hindi magka-away. In fact, they both tell the same story of a Creator who is hands-on sa Kaniyang creation.

But sometimes, He works in extraordinary ways supernatural acts para i-shape ang history, starting from Genesis 1:1.

Our Remarkable Home: Hindi Ito "Chamba" Lang

Isa sa pinaka-mind-blowing na discoveries nitong 20th and 21st century is how "sakto" ang Earth at ang universe para mabuhay tayo. Hindi ito aksidente.

  2. The Carbon Factor: Carbon is like the "universal connector." Stable siya pero flexible perfect for building life.

  3. Water is Life: Literal! We need a solvent na liquid sa tamang temperature, at water lang ang pasok sa criteria na 'yan.

In Filipino terms, sobrang swak.

God’s Remarkable Design: The Math of Creation

Hindi lang basta maganda ang mundo; it is mathematically elegant. May tinatawag tayong 19 universal constants mga fixed values sa physics like the speed of light (c) or gravity (G).

Proton mass squared times G over hc is greater than or approximately equal to the twelfth power of e2 over hc, multiplied by the fourth power of electron mass over proton mass.

Walang "blind forces" dito; everything is intentional.

Even DNA proves this. It’s an information storage system. Ang probability na mabuo ang isang simpleng molecule like cytochrome-C by accident? One in ten to the sixtieth power. Impossible!

Can We Harmonize Genesis 1 and Science?

Take "Natural Selection" for example. It explains how animals adapt to their environment (micro-evolution), and that’s fine! Pero it struggles to explain the origin of complex systems like the human eye. Sabi ni Michael Behe, ito yung "Darwin’s Black Box." Ang hirap isipin na ang isang complex system ay nabuo "part by part" through accident, kasi hindi naman gagana yung mata kung kulang ng isang part, right? It needs to be designed as a whole.

The more we look at the universe, the more we see God's divinity even in the "invisible elements" (Romans 1:20). Hindi tayo product ng tsamba; we are products of a Master Designer.

Real Talk Reflection

"For since the creation of the world God’s invisible qualities his eternal power and divine nature have been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made, so that people are without excuse." Romans 1:20

Minsan feeling natin ang liit-liit natin sa mundo, or everything is just random chaos. Pero look at the stars, the math of the universe, even your own DNA. Everything shouts that you are cared for. Under the New Covenant, we know that the Creator isn't just a distant "Engineer." He is a Father who fine-tuned the entire universe just so He could have a relationship with you. Science doesn't replace God; it's a tool that reveals how brilliant He is.

Call to Action: Ngayong araw, take a moment to look at nature kahit isang dahon o yung liwanag ng araw. Trust the Designer today.
