Bible Student:
Pastor Ronald, good morning po!
Pastor Ronald:
Good morning din sa'yo! Tama ka dyan. Salvation starts with humility, yung pag-recognize na bankrupt tayo spiritually at kailangan natin ang Savior. Grace is a gift, and a proud heart won't see the need for a gift.
Bible Student:
Opo.
Pastor Ronald:
Mabigat na tanong 'yan, pero very real. Sa perspective natin, we believe that salvation is a relationship based on faith. And just like any relationship, it requires us to remain in Christ.
Regarding "pride," actually, you hit the nail on the head. Apostasy is the ultimate act of spiritual pride. It’s like saying, "I know what You offered, Lord, but I’d rather go back to being my own master." It’s a turning back from the light after seeing it.
Bible Student:
O hindi talaga siya genuine from the start?
Pastor Ronald:
Alam mo, only God knows the heart. Pero ang warning ng Bible, lalo na sa New Covenant context, is clear: we must persevere. Ang apostasy is not just a simple "struggle" with sin; lahat tayo may struggle. It is a deliberate and final rejection of the faith.
It’s heartbreaking. Whether they were never genuine or they truly fell away, the result is the same: they abandoned the only source of life.
Bible Student:
Nakakatakot naman po 'yun, Pastor. Parang kailangan talaga nating maging maingat.
Pastor Ronald:
Kaya nga ang grace is not just "fire insurance" na itatabi mo lang sa bulsa mo. Grace is the power of God that teaches us to live godly lives. We stay humble by realizing we need Him every single day, hindi lang nung araw na nag-pray tayo to accept Him.
The fact na nagtatanong ka at nag-aalala ka shows humility. The dangerous person is the one who thinks, "I'm saved already, so I can live however I want." 'Yan ang simula ng paglayo. Keep clinging to Jesus, because He is the one holding us, but we must also choose to stay in His hands.
The Word
Hebreo 3:12
Call to Action:
I need Your grace today as much as I did on the first day." Kapatid, manatili ka kay Kristo!
