Parang ganito lang 'yan: Where the theory of evolution is true, it’s not really that interesting. Pero where it’s most "interesting," doon naman siya hindi totoo.
Adaptive Variation vs. Grand Fairy Tales
Kung ang definition mo ng "evolution" is simply cyclical variation dahil sa nagbabagong environment, then yes, fact 'yan. Nakikita natin 'yan sa nature at sa mga lab experiments.
Take for example 'yung mga ipis o lamok na naii-spray-an ng insecticide. 'Yung mga mahihina, dedbol agad. Pero 'yung mga may "resistance" sa lason, sila 'yung nakaka-survive at nagkakaroon ng anak. 'Yung mga anak nila, namamana 'yung resistance na 'yun. After many generations, 'yung buong population resistant na sa lason.
Pero plot twist: Hindi 'yan permanent. Kapag tinanggal mo na 'yung lason sa environment, bumabalik din 'yung population sa dati nilang state. Same thing with bacteria and antibiotics. This is what we call microevolution, or better yet, "adaptive variation."
Ang nakakalito kasi, ginagamit ng mga textbooks at media ang "adaptive variation" para patunayan ang macroevolution. 'Ito 'yung "grand story" na ang buhay daw ay nagsimula sa simple natural processes hanggang sa maging complex plants, animals, at tao nang hindi na kailangan ang tulong ng Diyos.
The Information Problem
Si Charles Darwin, in-assume niya na ang macroevolution ay microevolution lang na pinatagal ng milyon-milyong taon. Pero may malaking butas sa kwentong ito: Information.
Lahat ng living things ay "packed with information" ito 'yung complicated instructions (parang computer software) na nagpapatakbo sa katawan at utak natin. Kahit si Richard Dawkins (isang sikat na atheist) aminado na ang bawat cell sa katawan ng tao ay may mas maraming information kaysa sa lahat ng volumes ng isang encyclopedia. And imagine, we have trillions of cells working in perfect harmony!
Ang pinakamalaking weakness ng theory of evolution? Walang process sa science na kayang mag-create ng ganitong karaming information. Without a creative process, evolution is just a story. Hindi ito ma-duplicate sa lab at hindi nakikita sa nature.
Real Talk Reflection
"In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God." John 1:1
Minsan tayong mga Christians, masyado tayong nagfofocus sa pag-debate tungkol sa timeline o edad ng mundo. Although debatable 'yun, huwag nating hayaang ma-distract tayo sa main point: Ang mechanism ng evolution (random variation + natural selection) ay walang kakayahang mag-create ng bagong genetic information. Hindi nito kayang gumawa ng pakpak, mata, o utak mula sa wala.
The Bible is very clear: "In the beginning God created." May Divine Intelligence na nauna sa lahat, at Siya ang responsible sa buhay at sa existence nating mga tao. Sinasabi rin ng Bible na nilikha tayo ayon sa image ng Diyos. Fact 'yan. Kung hindi 'yan totoo, wala sanang science, dahil ang theory ng evolution ay hindi maipaliwanag kung paano nagkaroon ng intelligence ang tao including the intelligence of those who try to explain away God.
Call to Action: Huwag kang padala sa mga trends na nag-aalis sa Diyos sa picture. Today, take a moment to look at the complexity of your own body and the world around you. Let it remind you that you are not an accident. You were designed with a purpose by a Creator who is the Source of all wisdom. Trust the Word, because it is the ultimate fact in a world full of fantasy.
