Most of our readers know that I and many other former Seventh-day Adventists left that church because of what we considered to be doctrinal error that undermined the new covenant gospel. We have on several occasions, both in our books and in our presentations and articles, shown that the investigative judgment does not measure up to the biblical test for truth. However, we have not spent much time explaining what Daniel 8:14 does mean in its contextual, biblical, and historical setting. We have repeatedly shown the error of the Adventist interpretation but have often been silent on the real meaning of this text which is “the central pillar of Adventism.”

WHY THE SANCTUARY DOCTRINE CAN'T BE TRUE
When I was a budding Adventist back in the late 1990s, I heard that many years ago, there was an Adventist theologian named Dr. Desmond Ford who questioned the Sanctuary Doctrine. His questions started a great controversy within the Seventh-day Adventist Church. But that has since been settled after the Biblical Research Institute conducted a massive study that showed how biblical it is. My SDA pastors and mentors gave me the impression that the issues have been dealt with already. I can now take comfort in the fact that the Sanctuary Doctrine is really in the Bible, and therefore the Seventh-day Adventist Church remains the true Church.

ADVENTIST SCHOLARSHIP ON THE SANCTUARY DOCTRINE
When I told an Adventist pastor that I'm doubting the Sanctuary Doctrine, he told me to refute the whole DARCOM report before I even think of leaving the Church. It's an overwhelming task, and I can't possibly take to that task as I'm not a professional theologian! The least I can do is to identify the defeaters and the assumptions that underlie the whole Sanctuary Doctrine. Those defeaters are what I focused on in my main article. Instead of refuting 2400+ pages of the DARCOM Series, I only responded to the chapters that intersect with my positions. I admit that I haven't comprehensively dealt with DARCOM, and I don't intend to. All my objections against DARCOM are in my mind. Readers of my article can talk with me personally to know my answers.

Nais ko po ibahagi ang naging talakayan namin ng isang Seventh-day Adventist na nagtanong sa akin sa Facebook messenger. Ang tanong ay nagsimula sa tanong kung bakit iniwan ko ang SDA church na dati kong ipinagtatanggol at nauwi ito sa tanong na kung anong kautusan ngayon ang aking sinusunod. Nakita ko po na makakatulong din po ito para sa iba na nagnanais na maibahagi din ang gospel sa kanilang mga SDA friends and relatives. Hindi ko na nilagay ang pangalan ng nagtanong dahil hindi ko na ipinaalam sa kanya na ipopost ko dito ang naging usapan namin. Nagpapasalamat din ako sa kanyang sincere na mga tanong. Sana buksan din ng Panginoon ang kanyang puso upang maunawaan ang gospel ni Cristo. Dalangin ko sa Panginoon na kahit paano ay marami po ang ma-bless sa usapang ito. To God be the glory!

THE LORD'S DAY AND THE EARLY CHURCH

According to Adventists, the original Christians were Sabbath-keepers who were no different from them. But after the death of the last Apostle, corrupt church leaders who were motivated by greed and power made it easy for sun-worshipping pagans to convert to Christianity. Without any biblical authority, these apostates promoted Sunday as the new Sabbath and called it "the Lord’s Day”. The transition from Sabbath-keeping to Sunday-keeping gradually happened during the early centuries, then it culminated in the 4th century during the reign of Emperor Constantine the Great. From then on, the Pope of Rome, the “little horn”, was vested with tremendous religious and secular powers, which allowed him to completely quell true Christianity for many centuries. The true Church reemerged in the 19th century when the Seventh-day Adventist Church was founded through the prophetic guidance of Ellen White.

The Seventh-day Adventist Church has made every effort to make the claim that their prophetess Ellen G. White (EGW) had OVER 2,000 visions during her lifetime. How did this number of "over" 2,000 visions come about? If Adventism lies about this can they be trusted on other claims they make about their prophetess? We will look at three sources where the Adventism promotes Ellen G. White as having "over" 2,000 visions: a plaque located at Oak Hill Cemetery, Battle Creek, Michigan; Seventh-day Adventists Believe; and the book Charismatic Experiences by Arthur White, EGW's grandson.

SABBATH AND SUNDAY IN EARLY CHRISTIANITY

There are strongly-held differences as to whether God wishes Saturday or Sunday to be the main weekly day of Christian assembling and worship. As with many religious issues, both sides appeal to the Bible; then, when arguments based on it fail to convince, they look to the practice of the earliest Christians. For instance, some adherents of a seventh-day Saturday Sabbath allege as fact that Sunday did not become the chief day of the Christian week until the time of the Roman emperor Constantine in the early fourth century AD, when he changed it from Saturday to win over non-Christian sun worshippers.

Bacchiocchi’s theory
Modern Sunday-keeping Christians often conclude that the apostles authorized or even commanded Gentiles to meet on Sundays instead of Sabbaths.1 This conclusion is rejected by people who think that Christians should observe the Sabbath day.2 Seventh-day Adventists have proposed ways in which the vast majority of professing Christians could have become deceived about the Sabbath. One authoritative SDA book claimed that the change from Sabbath to Sunday “was introduced at Rome about the middle of the second century.”3

DOES HEBREWS 4:9 COMMAND US TO KEEP THE SABBATH?

Those who believe that Christians are required to keep the seventh-day Sabbath, especially as it applies to resting from work, sometimes cite Hebrews 4:9-11 as a proof-text. In the New International Version these verses say the following:
There remains…a Sabbath-rest for the people of God; for anyone who enters God’s rest also rests from his own work, just as God did from his. Let us, therefore, make every effort to enter that rest, so that no one will fall.

“SINS ONLY FORGIVEN BUT NOT BLOTTED OUT" : THE 1844 INVESTIGATIVE JUDGMENT DILEMMA!
The following dialogue is a transcript from a video clip by the John Ankerberg Show in 1985. This a controversial dialogue between the late cult expert, Dr. Walter Martin, and William Johnsson, a former Adventist Review editor. This portion clearly illustrates the real dilemma that exists with the Adventist doctrine of the 1844 investigative judgment. They teach that Christ's sacrifice on the cross provided only the forgiveness of sins, not the blotting-out or cleansing of sins. The blotting-out of sins will only take place after 1,183 years on October 22, 1844!

"ALIN ANG TUNAY NA IGLESIA?"

Ang true church ay hindi ang alinmang nakikitang denominayson, religious organization, kundi , ito ay kalipunan ng mga taong may tunay na mananampalataya at sumasamba sa Diyos araw-araw sa “espiritu at katotohanan” (Juan 4:24, Gawa 2:46). Ayon sa diwa ng Biblia, ang mga mananampalatayang ito ay matatagpuan sa iba’t-ibang churches, denomination at religion sa buong mundo. Diyos lamang ang nakakakilala kung sino-sino sila (2 Tim. 2:19).
Sila yung tinatawag na “iglesia ng mga panganay na nangatatala sa langit” (Heb. 12:23). Ang true church na ito ay binubuo ng mga taong tiyak na ang kaligtasan dahil ang pangalan nila ay nakasulat na sa “aklat ng buhay” bago pa itatag ang sanlibutan (Apoc. 3:5; 17:8). Tanging ang Diyos lamang ang pumili sa kanila sa pamamagitan ng kanilang pananampalataya sa Kanyang Anak na si Jesu-Cristo at hindi batay sa kanilang gawa, mabuti man o masama (Roma 9:11; 11:5, 6).
Ang true church na ito ay naligtas na at inaring-ganap na ng Diyos dahil sa kanilang pananampalataya sa gospel o evangelio tungkol kay Cristo (Roma 10:17) bago pa sila umanib sa alinmang religious denomination para sa ikalalago ng kanilang panampalataya(Gawa 2:46, 47).
Makikilala natin ang true church hindi sa 28 Fundamental Beliefs o dahil sa Daniel and Revelation Seminars kundi, tanging lamang ang gospel tungkol kay Cristo at ang isa ng kanyang kamatayan sa krus (John 14:6; Roma 10:9-10; 1 Cor. 15:1-5) Ang gospel na ito ang “siyang kapangyarihan ng Dios sa ikaliligtas ng bawa't sumasampalataya” (Roma 1:16).
