Some people asked me if I already have a reaction video about this trending post claiming that the rapture of the saints will happen on September 23, 2025. First of all—rapture date-setting again? How many times has this happened in church history, and how many came true? Not a single one.
Now, let’s go back to the Bible. Where does this teaching of the ‘rapture’ come from? People often point to 1 Thessalonians 4:16–17: “the dead in Christ will rise first… then we who are alive… will be caught up…” But here’s the question—did Paul say when this would happen? Did he give us a calendar date, like a festival schedule? No. Paul’s point was comfort: “Therefore encourage one another with these words.” He wasn’t giving us a countdown timer.
And if we look at the context of the New Testament, especially Matthew 24, who was Jesus’ immediate audience? His disciples in the first century. He said, “this generation will not pass away until all these things take place” (Matthew 24:34). So who witnessed the fulfillment first? Not us in 2025, but them in AD 70 at the destruction of Jerusalem. From a Partial Preterist perspective, the apocalyptic signs Jesus spoke of were largely fulfilled in the first century.
So, here’s the challenge: if it’s really true that the ‘rapture’ is set for September 23, 2025, why didn’t Scripture itself say so? Why have so many failed before—from the Millerites in 1844 to modern YouTube prophets today? The problem is, people want to turn the Bible into a horoscope instead of following the clear redemptive-historical timeline.
Brothers and sisters, instead of asking, “When is the date of the rapture?” shouldn’t we be asking, “Am I ready if Christ were to come today? Am I walking in holiness, or am I just busy chasing conspiracy videos online?”
The truth is, we’re not called to be date-setters. We’re called to be faithful witnesses. So on September 23, 2025, what will I be doing? I won’t be waiting for a rapture alarm clock. I’ll continue preaching the gospel, loving the church, and living holy lives—that is the real way to wait for the coming of the Lord.”
